Day-by-Day Itinerary
Join a local village guide for a walk through banana farms, rice paddies, woodcarving workshops, and local markets. Sample traditional banana beer and enjoy a authentic local lunch cooked by a local women's collective. In the afternoon, transfer up into the cool coffee-growing hills of Karatu for dinner and evening relaxation.
Spend 5 to 6 hours exploring the diverse habitats of the caldera floor including the Lerai Yellow Fever Acacia Forest and Lake Magadi. Track endangered black rhinos, large lion prides, hyenas, and giant tuskers. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch beside the hippo pool before ascending in late afternoon and returning to your lodge for dinner.
Check in to your camp/lodge near the lake and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a guided hike through the cool Ngare Sero Gorge, wading through shallow river waters to reach the hidden Ngare Sero Waterfalls for a refreshing swim in the natural plunge pools. Return for dinner and campfire storytelling.
Return to camp for a hearty breakfast before starting your journey back toward Arusha. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route and arrive in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in late afternoon for your onward flight or hotel connection.
